THIRD REICH M18 TRANSITIONAL STEEL HELMET.

Stocks of Imperial German M18 steel helmets were re-purposed and used by the Wehrmacht and SS in the early 1930’s. They were re-painted in the Apple Geen paint, has the eagle decal applied to the left side and had the M35 leather liner inserted. Many pictures exist of these being worn. This one is exactly one of these. The green paint has been chipped off over the years in quite a few places. The Third Reich silver eagle and swastika decal is about 80% intact, with some paint flaking aroind the swastika. Interior liner shows honest wear and all tongues are intact with original drawstring. The helmet has suffered some ‘battle damage to the rear and the projectile or whatever it was, has pieced the metal and gone through to slightly pierce the liner band too.
A good, honest, original ‘transitional’ helmet.
