WW1 IMPERIAL GERMAN FIGHTING KNIFE- AS PICTURED IN THE BOOK!!

The variations of fighting knives during WW1 are vast and easily worthy of collecting in their own right (as people do!). They were mostly private purchase items and sold throgh retail shops. This exact type is pictured on page 41 of the excellent reference book ‘German fighting knives 1914-1945’ .
All hardwood handle with grooved grip. A single flat quillion or crossguard to one side. Tubular steel, black painted scabbard with its original leather belt loop with cross strap and button popper. The short, single edged blade is in good condition and has the makers name of Ernst Busch Solingen stamped into the riccasso. It also has a little Imperial crown stamped into the opposite riccasso, which I presume is an acceptance or proof stamp of some description.

The sale of Knives and other Edged Weapons are restricted to those aged over 18. Verification of age is required before purchase is concluded.”
