THIRD REICH POLICE BAYONET BY ALCOSO WITH FROG AND KNOT.

A really nice example of a long police bayonet with black scabbard and frog (City/town police). Early heavy nickel construction with stag grips. This one has a working mortice button and slot, so could fit on a K98 rifle. This is a typical Weimar Police re-issue, so has had the clamshell removed, blade, scabbard and grips shortened and Third Rich alloy police badge affixed to the grip by the armourers.
In near mint condition throughout. Great detail to the hilt etc. Very nice stag grips. Black leather scabbard with NO damage. There is an original black police type leather frog and a Police portapee. The frog has lost the top two alloy rivets which hold the main ‘pocket’ together. The reverse crossguard is stamped with the old Weimar police accountability numbers etc S.Ar.I.340. This is repeated on the top of the reverse scabbard, so this is a perfect matching set. The blade is stone mint with no damage or lifting. The ALCOSO trademark of scales in stamped into one side and the full company name Alexander Coppel is stamped on the other side.
