AN ALUMINIUM LUFTWAFFE SWORD IN Nr MINT CONDITION WITH UNUSUAL HANGER.

I have always liked the aluminium versions of the Luftwaffe parade sword or Fliegerschwert. Because of the aluminium construction they have usually aged very little and nearly look the same as when they were made 80 years ago! The sword has perfect bright fittings and all the gilt wash is present on the large pommel swastikas as well as the crossgusrd ones. The mid-blue leather on the grip and scabbard is lovely and has no discernible scuffs
A very enterprising owner has fabricated a hanger from Luftwaffe dagger hangers and Thisbis permanently attached to the upper scabbard rings. This hanger has been on the sword a long time, so could have easily been put there by the original owner. The nickel plated blade is in mint condition and has the SMF makers trademark as well as a small Waffenampt stamp above it.
