WEHRMACHT ALLOY BELT BUCKLE AND LEATHER TAB.

An interesting item this as it has either been removed from a battlefield, or just been stored in a fairly damp place! The buckle itself is fine. An all aluminium type with pebbled finish. No damage to the front etc. The reverse is a little oxidised and the original leather belt adjuster tab has distorted itself after becoming wet or similar. however, the leather is still actually fine and quite supple. The stitching holding it together has rotted away, so both ends are open. It is still possible to the the makers oval mark stamped into the leather. I cant quite make out the maker, but the center date is 1937!
