AN AMAZING MINT EXAMPLE OF THE LUFTWAFFE TROPICAL MACHETE.

I’ve only ever had a few of these in my collecting career, and whilst not really a dagger or a sword, it is an edged weapon used by the Luftwaffe during WW2. Apparently issued to certain bomber crews as part of the overseas equipment. This one is in amazing condition and virtually stone mint! Never used or issued.
Wooden grip with twin bolts. All brass hilt and crossguard. Large steel scabbard that retains ALL of the original anodised/blued finish!! The large slab sided blade is still in the original brown packing grease!! ALCOSO were the only manufacturer of this type of machete and their trademark of the small scales and company name are stamped along the blade near the crossguard. A very nice piece.
