“SPECIAL OFFERING” - EARLY DLV FLYERS KNIFE - UNIT MARKED.

This has just arrived from Scotland and is a very interesting dagger. The downside is that the blade is not the best, and at some time in its life, has been shortened/re-tipped. However, the condition of the rest of it helps to make up for that, and it has been priced accordingly.
All solid nickel pommel and crossguard. Perfect inset swastikas in the crossguard. All parts are uncleaned. Near perfect Morrocan blue leather to the grip AND the scabbard body. Crossguard has K stamping to one arm, PLUS a unit or squadron markings under the crossguard arms. This reads TS1 then 26. Interestingly the markings on the throat of the scabbard are different and read TS2 360. There is also the tiny early DLV winged swastika symbol. Scabbard ring has the original short leather hanger with nickel snap clip.
The blade has some grey staining, no pitting. As I mentioned the tip has been broken at some time and then re-profiled, but looks pretty good. The makers mark of SMF with their ‘seated king’ logo, is etched into the blade surface.
Actually a very decent looking dagger.
I’ve recently sold several of these for between £1100-1400. This is priced to sell, taking into account the blade, but that’s all that’s wrong with it!!
