TENO HEWER COMPLETE WITH FROG AND ORIGINAL KNOT-LOWEST NUMBER I HAVE SEEN.
This TENO mans hewer originally came from a family in Scotland. It was a direct souvenir ‘bring-back’ and has remained exactly as it is since the war. It’s unique in several ways. The ORIGINAL TENO portapee is wrapped around the frog. Never been off. It’s a green/silver type which designates a Unterfuhrer/NCO rank and is actually rarer than the dagger! The black leather frog is in perfect condition and even the small fragile leather cross strap is intact and complete. ALL TENO daggers are numbered and this one has the lowest number I have ever seen. 0013 is stamped to the blade and the scabbard throat. Condition of the dagger is VERY good with just a little plate lifting to the pommel and back strap area. Very common with these daggers. The celluloid grips are perfect and the scabbard paint is 100% complete with just some age spidering. The large Bowie type blade is in mint condition and has the Eickhorn squirrel and TENO eagle deeply etched go the reverse riccasso.
A truely unique dagger.
