A NEAR MINT ‘TRANSITIONAL’ NSKK DAGGER BY J.A. HENKELS.

A very nice piece indeed. These have become known as ‘transitional’ pieces are they were made in the period between the early daggers, when just the manufacturers name of trademark was on the blade, and then as the RZM took over overseeing production, companies carried on putting their trademark but also their allocated RZM code. This was only for a short time, so these daggers are in demand from type collectors. This is a transitional NSKK dagger with factory black painted scabbard. The wood grip has a solid nickel eagle, but the crossgusrd are nickel plated alloy, but in great condition with no edge lifting. Scabbard is in near mint condition with no damage and perfect lower ball etc. The blade is in stone mint condition and has full crossgrain polish. A nice deep and clear Alles fur Deutchland and both the JA Henkels trademark of the ‘twins’ as well as the RZM M7/10 1938 underneath. A great example.

The sale of Knives and other Edged Weapons are restricted to those aged over 18. Verification of age is required before purchase is concluded.”
