A 99% MINT NSKK DAGGER BY EICKHORN WITH RZM CODE
As I have mentioned before, I will only consider buying the later SA or NSKK daggers if they are in mint condition. The construction of the later RZM pieces with the nickel plating over the grey alloy base metal does not hold up well over the years. The plating flakes badly and discolours. This example is 99% mint. The crossguard are virtually perfect, the wood grip looks like new. The scabbard paint is again 99% intact, as it left the factory. The scabbard fittings are also both stone mint. The blade is fantastic with full crossgrain polish on both sides. The SA motto is deep charcoal grey.
The reverse riccasso is etched with the Eickhorn RZM code M7/66 1941 and a large RZM circle above. A superb period dagger.
