ONE OF THE RAREST AND MOST DESIRABLE THIRD REICH FLAGS.

This is one of the smallest sized REICHSKRIEGSFLAG’s made and flown. It measures Kr 50 x 80cm, which is about the size of a small display cabinet. Tiny!! Most are Kriegsmarine marked with the little eagle and M stamped on the linen rope hem. Often sold as a ‘U BOAT’ flag and I am sure they were used on them, but most pictures available show them being flown on E BOATS and smaller inshore craft as well as river patrol boats.
The flag is made of the typical rough sack-cloth like cotton. Printed colours are very strong. The cream linen hem contains the original rope with sturdy loops at both ends. The hem also has the maker stamped in ink ‘Koechlin, Baumgartner &Cie. A..G.Lorrach’ Condition overall is very good indeed. It has been used and flown. There are a very few small age/moth nips. A VERY RARE FLAG IN THIS SIZE.
