UNIQUE, NAMED RLB OFFICERS 2nd Pattn. DRESS DAGGER.

These are always quite an interesting dagger anyway. Their unique ‘art Deco’ crossguard design sets them apart from other dress daggers. However, this one is also personalised and to my knowledge I have never owned one or offered on before. A very nice dagger anyway with perfect lesther to both grip and scabbard. The RLB grip badge has lost the silver plated finish so down to the copper flash coating. The enamel swastika is in very good order with very minor abrasions. No damage to the exterior. The reverse of the crossguard is professionally engraved with the RLB officers name, date and city. ‘Hans Rudell 1939 Dresden’. As we all know from history, Dresden was very badly bombed and had a firestorm run through it, so this officer would have witnessed all that. Blade is in very good condition, Weyersberg of course, as most of these are. Blade surface is not mint, but very presentable. Very clean, no edge damage, overall slightly dull, but perfectly acceptable.
Quite a unique dagger.
