WWII JAPANESE NCO’s KATANA.
Produced in their 1000’s under factory conditions, the NCO’s Katana differs from the officers version insomuch as they are virtually all made of metal. The grips are cast in one piece and painted to look like the fabric bound types on the Officer versions. The scabbards are steel and have an integral ‘drag’ on the bottom. This is a very well preserved example with 85%+ of the original paint on the grip and near 100% of the green paint on the scabbard. Blade again is a factory forged, mass produced type, but is in very good contain with a decent surface finish and no damage or nicks to the cutting edge. Blade has issue production number stamped along the spine. A good looking sword.
