IDEAL EXAMPLE OF FACTORY ERASED SA ROHM BY EICKHORN.

This is a classic example of a ‘factory erased’ Rohm signature SA dagger. Issued by Erst Rohm himself to all of his loyal supporters in 1933/34. He was in charge of both the SA and the SS until Hitler felt he was getting too powerful and had him murdered in 1934. All traces of Rohm were ordered to be destroyed or defaced. This included all the ‘presentation’ daggers he gave out. This example, made by Eickhorn, which features the very small oval Eickhorn trademark, used by them on most of the Rohm dagger blades (but not all!). The Rohm dedication has been expertly ground off the reverse blade, probably by the factory. No evidence of the signature etc remains, but the polishing/re-grinding process is very obvious. All nickel fittings throughout. A nice mid brown wood grip with no issues. Lower crossguard marked with Gau letters Nrh. Scabbard has most of the original brown ‘anodising’ and a lot of the lacquer, which has mottled. There is a very light surface dent to the front, near the lower portion. The blade is actually virtually mint, with deep grey lettering and all original crossgrain polish.
A nice example of an historical dagger.
