POLICE OFFICERS SWORD BY EICKHORN WITH PORTAPEE.

Becoming a harder to find sword, especially in decent condition. A good example of the parade Degen carried by Police Officers. Of identical design to the SS officers Degen the grips feature a police eagle badge deeply inset into the grip. Wood grip painted black, with horizontal grip wire. Nickel plated fittings in good condition with just a little plate lifting. Black painted scabbard with birtusllyballmofbghe original paint. Upper and lower nickel plated fittings. The very nice polished steel blade has the much more unusual Eickhorn trademark of the squirrel lookinnover its shoulder. This was only used by Eickhorn after 1942 until end of production. Both the scabbard throat and under the crossguard are stxx as moped with the little SS runes or ‘Kirchugarten’. There is an original police portapee tied correctly around the hilt. A wire long sword measuring 39” overall with a 33 1/2” blade.
