A fine example here and similar etch shown in Wayne Tychet bayonet book on page 208. This one is for a soldier who served in Jäger Reg.98 Mittenwald, and because it’s a Jäger regiment it has the added bonus of a stag grip!! PERSONALISED LUFTWAFFE FIGHTING KNIFE.

An interesting example this. These fighting knives were often personalised by their owners. Usually just a set of initials carved into the wood grips. However, this one is a little better as the original owner has indeed added his initials on one side W.F. but on the other side he has added his divisional regimental symbol. HITLER YOUTH KNIFE BY RARE MAKER ‘KUNO RITTER’ M7/3.

I can’t remember having a HJ knife by this maker. Whilst it has an RZM marked blade, the dagger itself is of early, all steel construction, not the later cast grey alloy.
