LUFTWAFFE 1st PATTN DAGGER IN ALUMINIUM BY EICKHORN.

A very nice example of the Luftwaffe 1st Pattn dagger in aluminium as worn by Senior NCO’s etc.
Whilst introduced in 1935 and then only worn by Officers, the introduction of the 2nd Pattn dagger in 1937 enabled just NCO’s to wear the 1st Pattn dagger, while Officers changed over to the 2nd Pattn. This is made by Eickhorn and has a mint nickel plated blade with the 1935-42 Eickhorn squirrel etched to the riccasso. Very nice matching dark blue Morrocan leather to the grip and scabbard Grip has triple aluminium wire. All swastikas are gilded and in very good condition. Eickhorn gilding was not as bright as other makers and had a pinkish tint to it. Matching set of aluminium hanging chains with OLC marked clip.
