EARLY SA DAGGER BY F.DICK.

This recently came from an old collection in the Bristol area and has not been offered before. All early solid nickel fittings. Nickel eagle and perfect SA button. The very top of the grip edge has chipped slightly against the top crossguard. I imagine it was dipped many years ago. The colour of the wide exposed is exactly the same as the rest of the grip, so this is NOT a new blemish. In fact I did not notice it for several days after buying it. The lower crossguard is marked with the letter Sw, this is for the Gau Sudwest with Stuttgart as its capital city. The scabbard has 100% of the original brown ‘anodising’ and probably over 50% of the factory lacquer. The bottom scabbard fitting has been dropped at some time(very common!) and it has squashed the lower ball. The blade is extremely nice and has most of the original crossgrain polish down both sides. Near the tip are some cloudy marks to the blade surface that look like old finger marks or similar. Does not detract from the overall look of this good blade. SA motto is deep and clear with background grey in the letters. The F.DICK trademark is deep and clear along the spine of the reverse blade.
