A VERY EARLY HITLER YOUTH KNIFE BY ROBERT HERDER.
Always very popular collectables with all of my customers. This is a super example of a very early HJ dagger by the uncommon maker Robert Herder. Their trademark is a windmill. All early heavy steel fittings that are nickel plated. A perfect chequered grip with inset enamel HJ diamond. Black scabbard retaining most of its original finish. Black leather belt loop and cross hilt strap with working popper. Shows a little use as this dagger is now approximately 90 years old! It’s completely sound. Blade is an initial production piece with no riccasso. Blut und Ehre motto still nice and clear. Reverse of the blade has the stamped Herder Windmill trademark with no name, but Solingen and Ges. Geschutzt. A great, early dagger.
