RARE MAKER EARLY SA DAGGER BY GOTTFRIED WEYERSBERG.

Another untouched dagger from the family collection. This is a very nice example of an early SA dagger by GOTTFRIED Weyersberg. Rated as 8/10 on the scarcity scale. A great earky piece with all uncleaned solid nickel fittings. Very nice mid-brown grip with nickel eagle and perfect SA enamel button. Grip has one very slight tiny sliver of wood lifted from edge where meets crossguard. Done a long time ago as colour is identical. Scabbard has all of the original brown ‘anodised’ finish. Reverse is nearly mint with lacquer too. There is the original brown leather hanger with early long snout nosed clip. Lower crossguard has Nm Gau mark along with an original unit number and probably the original SA mans membership number 15/23119. This stamping is also repeated on the top scabbard fitting. A nice matched pair. The blade is very nice with most crossgrain polish evident. Good crisp, clear motto. Reverse has the distinctive GOTTFRIED trademark of a vase with 3 star flowers and the manufacturers name etc in a diamond outline pattern.
