MOST UNUSUAL AND RARE LATER VARIATION TYPE HJ DAGGER BY WKC.
I’ve had these HJ knives on and off over the past 40 years. It wasn’t until I spoke to the late Tom Johnson many years ago, and he pointed me in the right direction, that I understood what they were. Part of a collection I’ve just purchased which is mainly Police, SS Police and SS degens. Peter Dan Krebs made SS swords as well as SS officers swords. They therefore used the same parts for most of each of the swords. This one is not mint, but all original and a very decent example of the type. An extremely nice example of this very popular dagger. Forms part of the history of the Luftwaffe. An extremely nice SS ‘33 dagger by premier maker. Worn by ALL members/ranks of the SS until 1936, when the chained dagger was authorised for Officers. A GREAT RECENT FIND! LUFTWAFFE MINIATURE DAGGER. SMF TYPE.
I’ve been in America for the past few weeks. No militaria fairs. Pure sightseeing. However, I always keep my eyes open and found this miniature in a crappy Pawn/Antique shop in Montana. A MOST UNUSUALLY MARKED SA DAGGER HANGER.
I’ve had 100’s of short hangers for the SA dagger both on the dagger or just loose, however I cannot ever remember seeing one with these markings in the leather. The hanger is brown leather and has nickel plated fittings. A RZM marked snap clip and RZM marked buckle. The leather on RZM period pieces usually has the RZM round stamp with the RZM L3 code and numbers/date.

A CLASSIC - TEXT BOOK SHORT SINGLE ETCHED ‘SERVICE TIME’ DRESS BAYONET BY EICKHORN.
A really nice example of the short ‘memory of my service time’ bayonet with the Luftwaffe etch shown on page 121 of Wayne Tychets excellent book. Classified as ‘scarce’. This etch features the closed with Wehrmacht eagle at one end of the etch and the Luftwaffe eagle at the other. The blade is in mint condition. The nickel plated hilt is near mint. AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF A THIRD REICH/WEIMAR OFFICERS NAVAL SWORD.
German naval swords are very interesting as they changed very little from WW1 to WW2. The same basic sword, with a few subtle changes was carried from the early 1900’s until the mid 1940’s. LEATHER FROG FOR THE RED CROSS HEWER.
A rare find!! Considering every Red Cross hewer was issued and worn with these frogs, it’s amazing that so many dagger turn up without them. Therefore finding an original frog to complete a dagger is very difficult. They are also unique to Red Cross daggers. No other frog can be used and these don’t fit anything else!
