A SENIOR FORESTRY OFFICIALS CUTLASS WITH GREEN/SILVER PORTAPEE.

A Senior Forestry Officials D guard cutlass with cream celluloid grips and 3 gilded acorns on each side. Plain D guard with fluted clamshell. Black leather scabbard with plain gilded upper and lower fittings. There is a black leather Forestry frog with V notch. The blade is triple etched with various hunting scenes and is nice and deep and clear both sides. No sharpening to edges. This cutlass is made by the BARON company who specialised in Hunting/Forestry items. There is a Hunting Association dagger by them listed in another section. The cutlass has a green/silver cloth portapee tied in the correct manner. Technically this is the wrong portapee, but I have had so many original pieces, with one of these tied onto it, I am sure they actually used them at the time.
