A really nice example of this elegant dagger introduced for RAD officers to wear in 1938. Up until then both officers, NCO’s and men all wore the large and heavy RAD hewer. THIRD REICH K98 BAYONET- MATCHING NUMBERS AND ORIGINAL FROG.
A very good, standard K98 combat bayonet with the red Bakelite grooved grip plates. Original black leather frog. The blade numbers match with the scabbard throat numbers 226 C. A very hard set of hangers to find, far rarer than the cloth hangers for the navy dagger itself. These have a nickname of ‘dog lead’ hangers as the black braided leather hangers have a resemblance to commercial leads.
