THIRD REICH IRON CROSS FIRST CLASS - SCREW BACK.

This EK1 is for a collector who just wants one as an original example example, but not willing to pay £250+!! This came from a friend of mine in Estonia who used to do battlefield digs. This was excavated from a location over there. It’s actually in amazing condition, considering it’s been in the ground. EK1’s are mainly made of solid nickel silver with an iron centre to the cross (hence Iron Cross). All the nickel parts are completely unaffected and in perfect condition. The iron middle has rusted but you can still clearly see the swastika in the centre. The round screw back plate is also perfect, but as the screw thread that holds onto the back of the cross is iron, it is stuck fast. I would suggest any attempt to unscrew it will snap the shaft. So leave it alone! A great item with a story attached. A good display piece.
