THIRD REICH SHOOTING ASSOCIATION DAGGER BY ALCOSO - COMPLETE.

A beautiful example which sadly comes from the extensive collection of a good friend of mine, who died last year. These Shooting Associstion daggers are more of a cutlass than a dagger. All follow the same design and are usually made by Eickhorn or Alcoso. The Third Reich Shooting Associstion only existed for a very short while during the period, as it was absorbed into the other armed forces to use the members shooting skills. The cutlass is in virtually mint condition and is complete with the correct narrow frog and its original solid green portapee. A cream fluted grip with crossed rifles badge. S shaped crossguard ending in acorns. The aluminium crossguard has the circular Shooting Associstion badge pinned to it. This badge has the only reference to the Third Reich as there are 2 tiny swastikas on the enamel badge. Nothing else identifies it to the period. The thin black leather scabbard is in perfect shape with upper and lower scabbard fitting stapled to the leather. The long, double etched blade is in mint condition with foliage, shooting scenes and target in perfect detail. The reverse riccasso has the Alcoso scales trademark deeply stamped.
