THIRD REICH ERA REGIMENTAL BAYONET PORTEPEE.

A good example of a pre-war regimental cloth portapee or troddel. Tied around the frog of a dress bayonet this would identify the wearers regiment/division etc. These are highly coloured and each one means different thing! Sorry to say, I’ve not looked this one up! Grey plain cloth straps with a red stem. The slide is yellow and so is the top of the acorn. The acorn is probably white but has become a little grubby over the years! An original example and always looks great when tied to a bayonet frog.
