A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF A ‘BLUCHER’ EICKHORN PARADE SWORD - WITH DISTRIBUTOR MARKED BLADE!

I’ve been looking for Eickhorn parade sword from the so called ‘Field Marshal’ series of swords, only made by Eickhorn, and have just purchased this super example. In the 1930’s the Carl Eickhorn company produced a series of 9 officers parade swords and named them after famous military commanders from Germanys past. Most (but not all) were Field Marshals, and hence this series of swords have become known as them. All are now quite rare, with some such as the Prinz Eugen and the Lutzow being extremely collectible. This is a near mint version of the BLUCHER pattern. Hilt is gifed aluminium with VERY little wear. The fire gilding is virtually 100% intact with a few wear spots showing the aluminium underneath. Black grip is perfect with triple aluminium wire. Lions head pommel has red glass eyes. Closed wing Wehrmacht eagle on the crossguard. Scabbard has 95% original factory paint. Nickel plated blade is stone mint!! Reverse riccasso has the stamped 1935-42 Eickhorn squirrel trademark and on the obverse side is a beautifully stamped uniform retailers name and address. V& L SCHEBBERT (?) UNIFORMEN AACHEN.
