A VERY NICE ARMY OFFICERS DAGGER WITH ORANGE GRIP AND DISTRIBUTOR MARKED BLADE.

A really nice army dagger in excellent condition overall. Good plating finish throughout and no damage or dents. Good tangerine orange grip. Blade is in mint condition with all original crossgrain polish remaining. There is no maker mark, but even better, there is a great DISTRIBUTOR name and address running along the blade. The uniform distributors throughout Germany in the 30’s and 40’s were able to order direct from the factory for their own retail shops. Some went even further and etched their own names on the blades as a permanent advertisement. This one is ALBERT KUHL with his main outlet in MUNSTER. He also had another outlet in ESSEN which is why it is also on the blade. Makes this dagger a bit special, as there are not many like this. This retailer is noted and pictured in a couple of Tom Wittmann’s excellent books. One shown an army dagger and another on a Luftwaffe one I think.
