AN EARLY EICKHORN 'PIONEER' DRESS BAYONET.

These bayonets have attracted this name, as originally no reason could b found as to why they were manufactured without the curved quillion crossguard. We now know that it was just a new design tried by Eickhorn and other companies to attract more sales! It was not very popular, not many were sold, so this has actually become quite a rare dress bayonet to find. It is pictured in the Eickhorn sales catalogue as item 1666. This one is in very good condition. Untouched. Nickel plated hilt fittings. Nice chequered grip plates. Original black paint to the scabbard, which also has its original patent leather black frog. This also has an original portapee which has been tied on the frog for ever! The blade is in near mint condition with no damage and the reverse riccasso has the early 1930's oval Eickhorn trademark used from 1933-35.

“The sale of Knives and other Edged Weapons are restricted to those aged over 18. Verification of age is required before purchase is concluded.”
