LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS PARADE SWORD.

Known as a’fliegerschwert’ (flyers sword) these are amongst my personal favourite designs. With a downswept crossguard and large round pommel, this design was inspired by medieval swords. This is a lovely example of an all aluminium version. All hilt parts and scabbard fittings are anodised bright aluminium. The 4 swastikas on each side of the hilt are in perfect condition, not faded or damaged. It has a very nice blue leather grip with springy aluminium twisted wire. Scabbard leather is in equally good condition and the top scabbard rings have the all important crescent shaped hanger permanently attached. The lower scabbard fitting has some fairly deep scratches to the surface. The nickel plated blade is in mint condition. The maker ‘Weyersberg’ has the trademark deeply etched into the riccasso, along with a nice Waffanampt stamp.
