I remember how long it took me to find one of these and was really pleased to find one after many months of searching. WKC made a really nice navy dagger. 99% of them are standard issue types with cream grips and dolphin/anchor etched blades. However, they did offer extra cost options, and this has them all, which makes it so rare and desirable. All brass pommel and crossguard in very nice order. The solid celluloid orange grip was probably lighter than this originally, but age and atmosphere has given is a beautiful deep orange colour. It has a small hairline stress crack to the rear, mostly covered by the portapee. There is no material missing. Tied in place is a super aluminium bullion 42cm knot. This has also toned over the years due to the high silver content, and it has turned a lovely mid-gold colour (there were non actual GOLD navy portapee). It’s tied in place and has no damage or wear at all. The scabbard (at extra cost) is beautifully hand hammered and still has a lot of the original fire gilding in the recesses. The blade is in mint condition and features on both sides, a fully rigged sailing ship in the etch (again this must have been an extra cost option). The riccasso has a deeply stamped WKC Knights Head trademark. This is a really great looking dagger indeed.
