NAVAL OFFICERS DAGGER BY EICKHORN WITH ORIGINAL KNOT.

I really like the character of this nice Eickhorn dagger. Has remained untouched and uncleaned. The original fire gilding is present for about 25% of the surfaces. Where it has worn off the brass underneath has been exposed to the atmosphere and turned plum colour with patina. No one has got the Brasso out and given it a polish!!! Eickhorn type pommel, perfect cream celluloid grip with no damage and twisted brass grip wire. The dagger has its ORIGINAL cream Rayon naval portapee tied in the correct manner. It has never been off this dagger. There is a little wear to one cord where it comes out of the tie and swings freely. The portapee has a lovely colour to it due to age, nearly golden. Scabbard is in fine condition showing the remaining fire gilding as described above. Blade is fantastic! Stone mint and has full original polish with dark great background etched panels. Needle shap point. The brown felt blade washer is in place. The reverse riccasso has the ‘over the shoulder’ Eickhorn squirrel used after 1942. Not a common trademark for Eickhorn pieces. Great looking dagger.
