Always a popular collectible as there are so many variations and the quality is amazing. These were all private purchase items, either by the soldier themselves or gifts from family or friends. Made by most manufacturers, each had their own specific design, which makes them so interesting to collect! This is by the PUMA WERK company. Nickel plated hilt and crossguard. Black chequered grips. Original black paint to the scabbard as well as its original patent leather black frog. Mint conditioned short blade. The service time etch is on the reverse, along with the PUMA trademark. The etch is very elaborate and the panel features oak leaves etc with a short winged Third Reich eagle at one end and a Wehrmacht helmet at the other. All in mint condition.
