A LUFTWAFFE 2nd Pattn WITH STRAPS AND KNOT BY VERY RARE MAKER FREDERICUS

Whist this very nice but standard 2nd Luftwaafe dagger, to find an ORIGINAL dagger by FREDERICUS is pretty rare! I think nice only ever had 2 or 3. Dagger is in an uncleaned state and all the metal parts are finished in the gun metal grey colour. Pommel swastikas have feint traces of gilding but mostly all gone. Cream celluloid over wood grip has the original twisted wire wrap. There is a small horizontal crack to the grip surface on the reverse. About 1cm long. There is no material missing. This has not been caused by the wood shrinking/expanding but rather by a physical impact of some sort. There is the original 23cm portapee tied correctly. A little frayed but completely intact.
A nice grey metal scabbard with no damage/dents. The polished steel blade is in very good condition with the ‘Fredericus’ SOLINGEN name etched along the back of blade. It has a great set of De-Luxe hangers with top acorn covered clip DRGM marked, and push-up acorn covered lower clips. No damage to the straps themselves with blue/grey velvet backings.
