A NEAR MINT EXAMPLE OF A LONG POLICE NCO’s PARADE DEGEN BY EICKHORN.

One of the last swords from the recent collection. A really good example of a Police NCO’s parade sword by Eickhorn. It is also complete with a correct and original portapee. Nickel plated hilt and D guard are in perfect condition. The black ebony wood grip is faultless and has the smaller police grey metal badge recessed into the wood.
Eickhorn were one of manufactures who stamped these pieces with the SS Kulturzeichen mark. These are deeply stamped under the hilt crossguard and again on the mouth of the top scabbard fitting. The scabbard is in mint condition with all original paint etc. As this is a NCO sword, it does not have a separate bottom fitting, just a steel drag as part of the bottom part of the scabbard. The blade itself is lovely and in mint, undamaged condition. The reverse riccasso has a deeply stamped Eickhorn squirrel trademark dating it from 1935-1941. There is a black leather blade washer in place.The sword is long, measuring 37.5” overall with a 31.5” blade. A very nice sword, not easily upgradable.
