POLICE OFFICERS SWORD BY HERMAN RATH!

Another excellent sword from the Police/SS sword collection. This is a rare example by HERMAN RATH. A very small dagger and sword producer and hence rare to find on the market today. The RATH company were obviously associated with the SS and actually the Police were under the direct control of Himmler SS by now. They used the SS Kulturzeichen stamp on the riccasso of their swords just above their name! The D guard and top of scabbard throat were not marked with it. Other than that, it’s a standard construction Police Officers sword. Near perfect nickel plated fittings. A nice black ebony grip with wire wrap. Large police eagle inset into the middle of the grip. Is a viper color now, but would have had a flash coat of silver originally. Nice scabbard with original black paint. One tiny indentation to the lower part. All screws intact.
Blade is lovely and in near mint condition. There is no blade washer. Blade measures 29.5” long.
A nice example by unusual and rare maker.
