A NEAR MINT ‘TRANSITIONAL’ SA DAGGER BY HOLLER.
These are a big favourite with SA collectors and this one is a very nice example. Part of the ‘transitional period’ between early production daggers and then onto the later, RZM controlled period. The dagger manufactures included their original trademark as well as the assigned RZM code. This has nickel plated fittings throughout but NO plate lifting at all. In fact they are so good they look old nickel fittings! It has a steel pommel nut, which looks unturned. A very nice lighter coloured wood grip with an aluminium eagle. Scabbard has 98% of the original factory paint with some VERY minor chips here and there. Lower scabbard fitting is perfect. There is an original short hanger clipped to the hanging ring. This has a RZM marked snap clip and the buckle is RZM marked on the reverse in a tiny stamping. The blade is lovely and apart from a couple of VERY minor small finger smudges, is in stone mint condition with all crossgrain polish. Lovely blade. Deeply etched Alles fur Deutchland and the reverse blade has the HOLLER thermometer logo and RZM M7/33.
