A LARGE AND UNUSUAL KREIGSFLAG.

Always popular flag with collectors. I’ve had dozens of these over the years, but never one quite like this, with these type of fixings. It’s quite a large flag to start with and is slightly different in shape ie length verses width. Printed on a high quality cotton rather than the normal sack cloth rough material. There is a cream linen/cotton hoist edge, which is usually a long pocket containing the hoist rope. This one has 3 individual reinforced flat linen loops. One in the middle and one at each end. There is no provision for a rope. This is not a ‘battle flag’ and would not have been used on a flag pole. It also has no size or maker marks on the linen reinforced double sided strip. I think this flag was used INDIDE a building or hall and was suspended by these three loops on a frame of some description. I’ve never seen original fixings on a flag like this. It certainly was not made to be flown outside! It does have reinforcing stitching to the top two corners.

Condition is very good indeed. Nice colours, a few moth nips here and there and some very slight fraying to one edge. Nothing serous at all.
