A SUPERB SS OFFICERS PARADE DEGEN!!!

This is perhaps the second most requested edged weapon I receive. An original SA Officers parade degen. These are rarer than a SS officers chained 1936 dagger as they were AWARDED and presented personally. Not all SS officers had one and you can see that in the official membership Dienstaltersliste where all SS membership numbers appear, along with rank and decorations. Instituted in 1936 and presented (apparently) by Himmler. There is a specific paper award document for these, I’ve only ever seen one once. This degen is in near mint condition throughout. This is a slightly later one and has nickel plated steel fittings. To be honest MOST of these swords are of this construction. Solid nickel hilts etc were used initially, but quickly changed to nickel plated steel. Plating on this one is 99% mint. Has black painted ebony grip with horizontal grip wire. Nickel plated vertical backstrap. In the centre of the grip is a perfect SS circular runes badge. The pommel nut will unscrew revealing the steel capping that hides the internal nuts that hold this piece together via the blade tang. Scabbard has upper and lower nickel plated fittings in great shape. The scabbard body retains 99% of the original factory gloss paint with no dents or damage. The blade is in mint condition and is finished in the usual slightly matt way. These are not highly polished blades. These is an original off white blade buffer in place. The riccasso bears no maker mark, which is again almost standard with later SS degens. Remember factory SS chained daggers have. NO maker mark either!!
All SS parade degens are quite long. Some longer than others. (There were height rules for joining the SS) This one measures 37 1/4”overall and with a blade length of 31“.
An extremely nice degen, worthy of any collection.
