A LUFTWAFFE 1st Pattn DAGGER - ALL ALUMINIUM FITTINGS BY P.D. LUNESCHLOSS. (Unusual maker)

This dagger is in MINT condition and time has treated it very well! These aluminium 1st Luftwaffe daggers usually survive in excellent condition as the anodised aluminium fittings just don’t oxidise with age. This one is beautiful throughout. The dark blue leather grip and scabbard are in perfect condition. The grip has twin thin brass wire wrap. The 4 swastikas on the crossguard and pommel have bright gilded surfaces. Look like they were made yesterday! Perfect hanging chains with OLC marked snap clip. The nickel plated blade has a light coating of oil/grease, but is in STONE MINT condition underneath. The LUNESCHLOSS oval trademark is deeply etched into the riccasso. This is a very uncommon maker, and whilst they made a variety of edged weapons during the Third Reich era, they don’t turn up very often.
