A SUPERB RLB 2nd Pattn. OFFICERS DAGGER BY HORSTER.

This has to be one of the best RLB Officers 2nd Pattn daggers I’ve had the pleasure of owning. One I should really keep, but you can’t keep everything!! The silver/nickel plated fittings have not been cleaned, possibly ever! They have a high silver content so have attracted a lovely smokey grey patina.There is a beautiful shadow ‘outline’ of the crossguard swastika on the top scabbard fitting, where it’s been protected from the atmosphere etc The blue leather covering both the grip and scabbard is faultless. Not a dig or scrape or scratch. The sunburst swastika grip badge has one very slight surface blemish, but otherwise is in mint condition, matching the rest of the dagger. The blade is in stone mint condition with ALL the original crossgrain polish. Beautiful! This one is slightly more unusual as it’s made by EF Horster and their deeply etched trademark is found on the reverse riccasso.
Not to be upgraded!!!
