1936 SS OFFICERS CHAINED DAGGER.

Perhaps the most requested dagger overall. Continue to get rarer and rarer as they are swallowed up into collections. This is a lovely example I sold over 10 years ago and was very pleased to be able to buy it back. Dagger itself is an earlier pre-RZM era, so has solid nickel crossguards, grip eagle etc. Blavk ebony wood grip is nearly perfect, but has 2 tiny slivers missing in the rear adjacent to the top crossguard. Otherwise perfect. Scabbard is an ‘anodised’ type which still retains the bulk of the protective lacquer over the surface. The center ramp chain fitting has 2 screws, usually found on non-painted scabbards. The dagger has a very pretty Type 1 chain with non-bevelled top links to the cloverleaf clip. The DRGM lettering on the clip itself is visible through the cloverleaf fitting. Chains are in super condition with good detail and full nickel plating.
The lovely blade on this piece is mint with full cross grain polish and grey background to the lettering.
