A MINT SMALL ‘DJ’ - (HITLER YOUTH) KNIFE WITH HJ DIAMOND ON SCABBARD.

These are super little, absolutely period, knives. I’ve had one in my own collection for over 30 years. A lucky find at the SoS show in Kentucky. This one is in mint condition. No one is exactly sure whom these were meant for, or even if they were unofficial knives you could buy privately. The collecting community has labelled thrm DJ knives, for use by the Deutche Jungvolk, the pre-cursor to the Hitler Youth. All of these period knives are exactly the same. Aluminium hilt, chequered Bakelite grips. Black painted steel tubular scabbard. Leather hanger with belt loop and little cross strap with popper. The blades are quite thin compared to a bigger HJ knife and have a small’bowie’ knife profile. All have a brown felt blade buffer too. Most have a plain scabbard, but a few have a HJ enamel diamond pinned to the center of the scabbard. These are MUCH rarer!
This is a beautiful, mint example of one of these! Everything is in mint condition. Grip, hilt, scabbard and blade. You could not get better.
