A LOVELY RED CROSS/SOCIAL WELFRE OFFICERS DAGGER WITH ORIGINAL KNOT.

Acquired last week during my trip to the SoS in Louisville. This really is a ‘cracker’. Beautiful condition throughout. Dagger has ALL the original bright nickel plating EVERYWHERE! No damage, no lifting, no scratches or dents. The tangerine celluloid grip is perfect and slightly darker on the front than on the reverse. There is an original 42cm bullion knot tied in the normal way for these daggers.The scabbard is spectacular with mint conditioned surfaces, bright, bright, bright!! The suspension holes are round on this example.
The blade is 99.9% stone mint with all the crossgrain polish down both sides. There is some VERY light ‘hazing’ to the surface very near the tip, but very hard to notice. There are never any makers marks on these blades. These daggers were carried by Red Cross and Social Welfare officers. The only think that differentiates them from each other are the STRAPS! (not the scabbards, this is PURELY manufacturing design differences). A REALLY nice looking dagger.
