A WONDERFUL NAVY DAGGER BY WKC WITH ORANGE GRIP, HAMMERED SCABBARD, KNOT AND ORIGINAL HANGERS.

This is one of the navy daggers that every collector wants. The combination of the yellow/orange grip and hammered scabbard make it most desirable. Made by WKC the dagger has a solid celluloid grip and is slightly more yellow than orange. Thin twisted grip wire and a beautiful navy bullion knot with larger acorn ball. It has a high silver wire content as it has toned down to a dull gilt colour. It’s tied in the complicated knot used on navy daggers. There is a lot of gilt left on the eagle pommel and crossguard. There is a very tiny stress fracture in the grip on the reverse under the pommel, but it is mainly hidden by the knot and very minor. The lovely hammered scabbard again has most of the fire gilt remaining on all surfaces. The blade is in stone mint condition with mirror bright surface and dark charcoal backing to the dolphin & anchor etch. Accompanying the dagger are a super set of moire cloth hangers with gilded aluminium fittings. These are a matched pair and look to have been with the dagger for a long time. They have some evidence of proper wear (as does the dagger) with velvet backing etc.
