A SEA/WATER CUSTOMS DAGGER!

Before everyone gets too excited, this is a beautiful dagger but it is a REPRODUCTION. However, it is one of the BEST reproductions of these I have seen. All the fittings are cast in solid brass with very good detail. The blue leather grip in perfect. Lovely blue Morrocan leather over wood with triple wire grip. Scabbard is similar with perfect leather and the three scabbard fittings in brass. They have even made sure the accent lines on the fittings only appear on the obverse side, not all the way around! The scabbard fittings are attached by v small headless screws, just like the originals. The blade is in mint condition with all crossgrain and has a HOLLER trademark. As far as I can see, the blade is totally original. This dagger was definitely made in Germany using all the correct skills. I think daggers like this were made in the 1980’s as it certainly has proper age to it. You could not make a dagger as good as this today, it would be far too expensive and not worth it. Originals of these are extremely rare and are £5000+. I’ve only had 2 in my career but never kept one for the collection.
I don’t usually handle reproductions or copies, but this is an exceptional piece, very high quality. Most collectors will never find one or have the funds to acquire one, so this is a great opportunity to ‘fill that gap’ in the collection, for a fraction of the price.
