HITLER YOUTH DAGGER WITH EICKHORN DOUBLE TRADEMARK.
Known by collectors as a ‘transitional dagger’ because it is between manufacturing periods. Up until 1938 Hitler Youth daggers had the Blut ind Ehre motto etched on the blade, during 1938 this was discontinued, but you can still find daggers made early in-938 with the motto intact. This has a date year 38 on the riccasso but was obviously made in the latter part of the year. It does however, have both the Eickhorn squirrel as well as the RZM code M7/66 on the reverse of the blade. The hilt is nickel plated over the grey alloy base metal. A little dull on the obverse, but much brighter on the reverse. The chequered grips are fine and it has a nice enamel HJ badge pinned in the centre.
The scabbard has the original paint and the belt leather and cross loop with popper are in very good condition. Blade has been used but not abused and is nice and clean. Reverse has markings as described above.
