A RARE LUFTWAFFE BOMBER CREW SURVIVAL MACHETE COMPLETE WITH TROPICAL FROG!.

Not a dress dagger of course, but an edged weapon and therefore fits into the ‘collecting’ side of things.
Part of the survival kit installed and issued to Luftwaffe bomber crews and ONLY made by ALCOSO. The early versions have a brass hilt, later ones have a steel hilt and there is an even rarer ‘sawback’ version. They measure about “ overall with a single edged wide steel blade. Brass hilt with S shaped crossguard and grooved wooden grips attached with recessed bolts. The wide scabbard is ‘blued’ not painted and this one retains most of the finish. It has its VERY rare canvas webbing carrying frog which has a grip retaining strap and fits over a bayonet lug on the scabbard. The blade is in near mint condition and has an unsharpened single edge. The reverse riccasso has the ALCOSO name and trademark stamped sideways along the blade.
A very nice and rare item.
