ARMY DAGGER WITH RARE MAKER, STRAPS AND BULLION KNOT.
Whilst army daggers are one of the most common still available, due to the numbers issued, some have become more desirable due to the rariety of certain makers. Many manufacturers made them, but like SA daggers, there were quite a few smaller makers, with any of thdir products becoming highly desirable! This is one of those, with THIS army dagger being made by the HENKELS company.
In lovely condition throughout, it has a perfect white celluloid grip and perfect nickel plating throughout.
It has the original 42cm bullion portapee tied in the correct manner and a super set of near mint dagger hangers. The crossguard used by Henkels is pictured on page 29 of Tom Wittmanns army dagger book. The nickel plated scabbard is perfect and undamaged. The only ‘fault’ I have found is it missing one side scabbard screw. The blade is absolutely STONE MINT. A wonderful thing to behold. Full crossgrain polish throughout and a perfect tip. The reverse riccasso has the famous ‘TWINS’ logo as used by Henkels along with the company name and SOLINGEN.
This is one for the type collector and in my opinion, would be very hard to upgrade.
