SS NCO’s PARADE DEGEN PERSONALISED WITH ORIGINAL KNOT.

A hard to find sword and this one is in very nice condition. As with a lot of SS officers and NCO’s degens, there is no maker mark on the blade. However, the original owner has paid to have his initials etched into the riccasso. Beautifully done in typical gothic styler letters, I think the letters are ‘F F’. Deep grey background. The blade is bright nickel plated, in mint condition and there is a thick leather blade buffer in place. The D guard hilt is nickel plated and in excellent condition. The top pommel of course has the SS runes deeply cast into the surface. The black wood grip has 13 horizontal grooves and as is normal, no grip wire or back strap. Tied around the hilt is an original SS black cloth with twin white lines, portapee. There is a woven black slide. The stem of the knot has had both of the SS runes removed, just leaving the base cloth underneath, but you can see the outline of where the two circular rune patches were! The acorn ball has a black top with bullion lower and the bottom insert has a piece of the black cloth straps inserted. Scabbard retains 90% of the original black factory paint. A very nice, personalised, example.
