AN EARLY SA DAGGER WITH SHORT HANGER BY ‘ASSO’.

A very good example of an untouched and uncleaned earky SA mans dagger by ASSO with their distinctive Hobby Horse trademark. Asso was ArturcSchuttelhofer &Co.. Rated about 6/10 on the rariety scale, it’s still a fairly uncommon maker and not one I have had in a long while! Dagger has not been touched in many years, if ever, and has a nice yellow patina to all of the nickel fittings. The grip is a Jedi um hardwood and the grip eagle and SA enamel button are perfect. The scabbard retains nearly all of the original brown factory ‘anodising’ but most of the original protective lacquer has worn off. There is its ORIGINAL short brown leather carrying strap with a solid nickel snap clip. The bottom chape is slightly dented and has moved slightly to one side. The blade is very nearly mint with just a couple of old finger smudges that prevent it from being so. The SA motto is deep and crisp with all background grey colour and the reverse has the great ‘Asso’ trademark etched into is. The lower crossguard is stamped with the letters Ns for the Gau of Niedersachsen.
